Pages will print with the name of the printer, the serial number of the printer, and a code indicating the type of media being used. The third line says MS Result and will be followed by one of the codes listed below:

· PRMA = premium paper

Printing and reading a 10-tap test
The following sections contain steps for printing a 10-tap test on HP All-in-Ones and printers.
NOTE: Some products do not include 10-tap tests. In these cases, this document contains instructions for printing a self-test.
HP Deskjet Printers
1. Press and hold the Power button, and then press the Cancel button once.
2. Release the buttons. The 10-tap test prints.
HP Deskjet 460 and Officejet H470 Mobile Printer series
1. Make sure the product is on and loaded with unused, plain white paper.
2. Hold down the Power button ( ), and then press the Resume button ( ) 10 times. Release both buttons, and the test page prints.

4. Press the Down Arrow button ( ) to select Print Test Page , and then press OK . The test page prints.
Photosmart 470 Printer series
1. Press Menu . Main Menu displays on the control panel.

1. Open the printer Toolbox using one of the following two options:
§ Click Start , click HP , and then click HP Solution Center . In HP Solution Center, click Print Settings , and then click Printer Toolbox .
§ Or in your printing application, select File , Print , and click Properties . Click the Services tab, and then click Service This Device .
2. Click Print a Diagnostic Page , and then click Print Page . The test page prints.
Photosmart 8000 Printer series
1. Press the Menu button, press the Right Arrow button ( ) to select Tools , and then press OK .
2. Press the Right Arrow button ( ) several times to select Print test page , and then press OK . The test page prints.
Photosmart 8100 and 8400 Printer series
1. Make sure the main tray is loaded with full size media, and that the tray selector is in the main tray position (the lever is all the way out).
2. Press and hold Cancel and Save . Hold both buttons for about five seconds.
3. The Service menu displays on the control panel. Scroll to Customer Diagnostic Test and press OK . The 10-tap test prints.
Photosmart 8200 Printer series
1. Make sure the main tray is loaded with clean, plain white paper.
2. Press Menu , and then press the Down Arrow button ( ) to scroll down to Tools . Press OK .
3. Press the Down Arrow button ( ) to scroll to Print Test Page , and then press OK . The report prints.
Photosmart 8750 Professional Photo Printer
1. Make sure the product is on and the main tray is loaded with unused, plain white paper. Adjust the paper guides, as needed, against the stack of paper.
2. Press and hold Layout and the Right Arrow button ( ) for several seconds until Tap Test #0 displays on the control panel.

Issue
When you try to set up the product on a wireless network using wireless channels 12 and/or 13, the product loses the network connection. The network lights on the product are not lit and, after you turn the product off and then back on, the printer scans the network and then the network lights go out.
The Network configuration page and the Report page show that the wireless status is “disassociated”, and the IP address is 0.0.0.0.

The product cannot connect to a network using channels 12 and 13. The product functions on channels 1 through 11.

- Ensure that the memory card has been removed from the memory card slot.
- Make sure 10 x 15 cm paper is loaded in the In Tray.
- On the control panel, press and hold the Print button until the printer begins to print a test page.

- Ensure that the memory card has been removed from the memory card slot.
- Make sure 10 x 15 cm paper is loaded in the paper In Tray.

- Make sure plain paper is loaded in the In Tray.
- Press the Menu button on the printer control panel.
- Press the Right arrow button six times.
- Confirm the display says Print a test page .
- Press the Select Photo button on the control panel to print the test page.
HP Photosmart A300 series
- Make sure the printer is turned on.
- Load paper in the input tray. Use plain paper or index cards to conserve photo paper.
- Press and hold down the OK button.
- Press the On button two times to print a test page.

The camera must be in the camera dock on the printer in order to print a self test.

- Make sure the printer is turned on.
- Dock the camera on the printer. (Turn on the camera manually if it does not turn on automatically. The Camera LCD acts as the LCD for the Printer when docked.)
- Load paper in the input tray. Use plain paper or index cards to conserve photo paper.
- Press the Menu/OK button on the printer.
- Press the Left/Right arrow button to highlight Settings .
- Press the Up/Down arrow button to highlight Tools .
- Press the Menu/OK button on the printer.
- Press the Up/Down arrow button to highlight Print Test Page .
- Press the Menu/OK button on the printer to begin printing the test page.

- Ensure that the memory card has been removed from the memory card slot.
- Make sure the printer is turned on.
- Load paper in the input tray. Use plain paper or index cards to conserve photo paper.
- Press the Left/Right arrow button to open the printer menu.
- Press the Left/Right arrow button to highlight Tools . Press the OK button.
- Press the Left/Right arrow button to highlight Print Test Page . Press the OK button.

- Release the OK button to print the Test Page.

- Ensure that the memory card has been removed from the memory card slot.
- Make sure the printer is turned on.
- Make sure the CD tray is closed.
- Make sure plain paper is loaded in the In Main Tray.
- Press and hold the OK button.
- Press and release the Left arrow button once. The printer display shows 10 briefly.
- Release the OK button to print the Test Page.
HP Photosmart D7100 Series
- Ensure that the memory card has been removed from the memory card slot.
- Make sure the printer is turned on.
- Make sure plain paper is loaded in the In Tray.
- Press the Home button to access the Home screen.
- Press the Left/Right arrow button to highlight Settings . Then press the OK button.
- Press the Up/Down arrow button to display the Tools menu. Then press the OK button.
- Press the Up/Down arrow button to highlight Print Test Page .
- Press the OK button to begin printing the test page.

- Ensure that the memory card has been removed from the memory card slot.
- Make sure the printer is turned on.

- Touch the home icon in the upper left-hand corner to access the home screen.
- Touch Settings on the screen.
- Touch Tools on the screen.
- Touch the Up/Down arrow on the right of the screen to scroll for more options.
- Touch Print Test Page to begin printing the test page

Take the printer OFFLINE. Press the MENU button until Test Menu or PCL Test Menu appears in the display. Press the ITEM button until Self Test or PCL Configuration Page appears. Press SELECT or ENTER .
HP Color LaserJet
Select the ONLINE key to take the printer offline (the On Line indicator goes out). Press the MENU key until PCL Test Menu or PS Test Menu appears on the first line of the Printer's display panel. Note: the prefix PCL or PS depends on whether HP-PCL or PostScript has been selected as the current "system personality." For example, if you want to print a PS self test but the printer is currently set to PCL, you need to change the printer's personality to PostScript. To do this press the MENU key until PCL CONFIG MENU shows on the first line of the display panel. SYS=PCL or AUTO will appear on the second line. At this point, press the Plus (+) key once to change to PS and then press ENTER . Finally, press the ON LINE key and the printer will reset to the PS personality. PCL SELF TEST or PS SELF TEST should automatically appear on the second line. Press the ENTER key to print the self-test page. Press the ONLINE key to put the printer back online (the On Line indicator goes on).
HP LaserJet 9000
Press 2, 2 (press the 2 key twice) on the numeric keypad of the printer.
HP LaserJet 8100 and 8000 series
Press the MENU button until Information Menu appears on the display. Press the ITEM button until Print Configuration or Print EIO Page appears in the display. Press SELECT .

Take the printer OFFLINE. Press the TEST button until 05 Self-Test appears in the display.

Press and hold the STATUS button on the back of the HP Jetdirect XIO card. Continue holding the STATUS button until the printer starts printing. Note: This will be easier if the eraser end of a pencil is used to hold the button in.
